Bobby Cox is one of the most accomplished baseball managers in MLB history. Born in 1941, Cox had a short stint as a player for the NY Yankees before he began his managerial career in 1971 as a minor league manager. He ended his successful minor league career with a total of 2 league championship titles and over 450 wins. In 1977, he helped the Yankees win the World Series as a first base coach. Prior to the following season, Cox became the new manager of the Atlanta Braves. He would go on to win thousands of games with the Braves, including those of the 1995 World Series. In every season from 1991 to 2005, he led the Braves to a division title. By 2001, he had won more games than any other managers in Braves history. Cox also served as manager for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1982 to 1985. He helped them reach first place in the American League East Division. Cox has been named the Manager of the Year four times; he is the first manager ever to have received the award two times in a row. By 2007, he had achieved the 4th highest all-time career win percentage among MLB managers. Bobby Cox is now one of the most well-known MLB managers of all time. He is a baseball legend.
